On the occasion of celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and carrying out the study and education of the Party’s history, Haisum held the theme Party lecture of study and education of the Party’s history and the second Party Committee theory center group (expanded) learning meeting at its headquarters in Shanghai on the morning of June 18. With the theme of “learning the century-old history of the Party and fulfilling the original mission”, Zhao Guoang, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of the company, taught a special Party lecture on learning and education of the Party’s history to more than 130 Party members and cadres in Haisum.

Secretary Zhao led the Party members and cadres attending the meeting to study the Party’s history and company’s history from four aspects, and review the original mission. First, study the Party’s century-old history from the development process and historical achievements—great achievements that shine through the ages and a hundred years of elegance; second, study the Party’s century-old history from the evolution of the Party constitution and the oath of joining the Party — keep pace with the times and carry on a self-targeted revolution; Third, review the company’s history from the original mission — serve the country in the light industry and have a solid foundation; Fourth, know the knowledge, increase credibility, respect morality, and practice diligently in learning history —— take the history as a mirror and keep moving forward.

Secretary Zhao, from the Party’s three historical periods, three major historical contributions, the three great leaps that the Party led the Chinese people to achieve, the evolution of the Party constitution and the oath of joining the Party, told the overview of the history of the Communist Party of China vividly and systematically, and deeply reveals the fundamental reason why the Communist Party of China had moved from weak to strong and to victory. Secretary Zhao, from the historical process of the development of China’s light industry with Haisum’s participation, also led the Party members and cadres attending the meeting to review the company’s history and the original intention and mission.

He pointed out that by learning the Party’s history and company’s history, we should not only summarize the historical experience and understand historical rules, but also grasp historical opportunities and historical initiatives, turn learning results into work motivation and results, understand and examine what we are doing in grand history, and enlarge the pattern and realm of entrepreneurship of cadres.

He stressed that it was necessary to adhere to the “problem orientation, target lead, reform assistance and innovation empowerment”, and promote the reform to move forward systematization and synergy according to the “three-step” plan of “building structure, laying the foundation, improving quality, making up for the weaknesses, making a long-term plan and promoting development”. Standing at the intersection of bidding farewell to the past 100 years and embracing a new 100 years, we should carry forward the spirit of serving the people, pursuing innovation and development, and striving hard with the sense of urgency of “on the string”, the sense of responsibility of “on the shoulder” and the sense of mission of “on the road”. We should never forget the original intention, remember the mission and work hard to build Haisum into a “domestic first-class and internationally renowned” high-tech engineering company and made new contributions to the prosperity and strength of the great socialist motherland.

Subsequently, leaders of the company exchanged views and made speeches around the study and education of the Party’s history. Everyone agreed that the century-old Party history is the best “textbook”, “nutrient” and “sobering agent” on the road of striving. Every Party member and cadre should learn the “compulsory lecture”, the Party’s history, well, retrieve the original intention, understand the truth and stimulate strength with the centennial Party’s history, show new deeds and make new achievements in promoting the high-quality development of the enterprise.

At the end of the meeting, Secretary Zhao Guoang made a concluding speech and made four comments on the next stage of the Party’s construction and the study and education of the Party’s history.

First, we should comprehend the great power of thought and strengthen our ideals and beliefs in learning and knowing history. Through the learning and education of the Party’s history, we must understand and practice unswervingly Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. From the course of the Party’s struggle, we should have a deep understanding of the Party’s nature and purpose, adhere to refining in the practice of “two maintenance”, cultivate ourselves in deepening theoretical learning, temper in dealing with risks and tests, and temper in strengthening responsibility.

Second, we should understand the thoughts of working for the people and stick to the original mission in learning history and knowing history. We should skillfully use the basic principle and methodology of historical materialism, correctly understand and grasp the country’s strategic deployment in building a new “dual circulation” development pattern, identify the development positioning, deeply analyze the advantageous fields and shortcomings, and firmly grasp the important tasks in the first year of the 14th five-year plan.

Third, we should perceive historical experience in learning history and knowing history to deal with risks and challenges. We should sum up and apply the Party’s rich experience in successfully coping with risks and challenges in different historical periods, continuously enhance the systematization, predictability and creativity of our work, improve our ability to grasp the overall situation, deal with risks and challenges and promote practical work, and strive to cultivate opportunities in crisis and open up a new situation in the changing situation.

Fourth, we should perceive the general trend of rules in learning and knowing history and take an active role. We should further improve our understanding, unify our thinking, and concentrate on promoting the production and operation of the company according to the new organization system. We should further elevate the corporate positioning to make new contributions to the realization of Poly Group’s positioning goals for SinoLight Corporation and strive to become the “lead of industrial chain” of the light industry or certain sub-industry chains; we should build a competent digital platform to support the digital development strategy and empower Haisum’s high-quality development.

The meeting was presided over by Li Yimin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Secretary of the Disciplinary Inspection Committee of Haisum.  The company’s leaders, heads of all departments of the headquarters, the leaders of Shanghai head office and secretary of the directly affiliated Party branch attended the meeting at the main venue; the leaders of subsidiaries, heads of relevant departments and secretaries of grass-roots Party branches attended the meeting in the video sub-venue.
